The HIRSCH Quality System

Strict selection and controls with regards to materials and suppliers along with rigorous quality procedures during production are the basis of the reliability which has characterised HIRSCH for generations. Both external and internal control mechanisms provide for the quality of the products. The certification according to ISO 9001:2000 therefore represents the confirmation for high quality.

The HIRSCH Quality System ensures high standards which customers worldwide trust. Due to their production engineering, all watch braceletsare water-resistant and sauna-proof. These quality features offer the consumer advantages far above the normal industry standard.

• Water-Resistant

HIRSCH bracelets absorb significantly less water than traditional leather bracelets, and they also dry more quickly, without losing any of their physical and aesthetic qualities, their flexibility and their attractive appearance.

• Sauna-Tested

Even when subjected to high temperatures, humidity and perspiration, there is no change either in elasticity and shape stability, or in flexibility and beauty. This is due to the strict criteria applied in the selection of materials, and also above all to our high standards of processing (HIRSCH Rembordier technology).

What makes these straps special is, they are made of natural materials and specially selected types of leather. In order to obtain a desired aesthetic effect, certain physical characteristics of the leather are dispensed with. HIRSCH uses leather which is produced according to traditional methods. That means that natural plants are used for tanning, and aniline dyes are used without any varnishes or spray colours added. Straps made in this way change their surface in the course of wear, giving rise to a natural patina, and sometimes slight colour changes may occur.

HIRSCH leather watch bands showing the swimmer icon indicate materials and elements featuring special water resistant qualities. Bracelets showing this symbol are excellent for swimming – you can even wear them while diving!

Furthermore, some of the HIRSCH watch bands have an additional quality feature. These products marked with a cross provide the No-Allergy System. The patented HIRSCH No Allergy System was developed in collaboration with the 1st University Clinic in Vienna, and has successfully undergone clinical testing with 2000 patients. These bracelets prevent (according to the present status of medical knowledge) well over 90 % of so called leather allergies and skin irritations.

An additional feature of HIRSCH bracelets can be seen in products showing the Leonardo icon. These bracelets have been specially developed for watches which are envisaged as having a seamless connection between the watch case and the bracelet. With this technology HIRSCH is able to extend the integrated look (which is typical nowadays at the high end of the watch segment) to other watches also.

More than two centuries of experience in leather manufacturing and the selection of appropriate leather-types enables HIRSCH to create bracelets with a completely scratch resistant surface. Diamond Calf owes its amazing durability to a unique HIRSCH developed Scratch-Resistant surface, while for Galuchat we use the same kind of leather that was also highly valued by the Samurai because of its natural durability.
